POSITION OVERVIEW

Seeking an experienced Automation Engineer / Controls Engineer to lead electrical design projects, mentor team members, and ensure compliance with industry standards. This role combines leadership, technical expertise, and project execution skills.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Design and document control systems including PLC, HMI, instrumentation, motor control, VFDs, safety circuits, robotics.
  • Develop specifications, cost estimates, and project documentation.
  • Develop process control software from start to finish, execute FAT, commissioning, and SAT.
  • Lead projects from conception to completion, ensuring quality and compliance.
  • Mentor junior team members and support professional growth.
  • Utilize AutoCAD and other design tools.
  • Research and implement new technologies.
  • Manage client interactions, approvals, and permitting processes.
  • Perform on-site inspections and collaborate with contractors and suppliers.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in electrical engineering preferred but not required.
  • PE status with the Georgia Society of Professional Engineers preferred but not required.
  • 5+ years of electrical design experience in PLCs, HMIs, instrumentation, robotics, and VFDs.
  • Proficiency in development software such as Rockwell, Siemens, Fanuc, ABB, Copa-Data.
  • Experience with pharmaceutical industry and/or power generation preferred but not required.
  • Knowledge of U.S. electrical and ANSI standards; ISO 9001 experience preferred.
  • Strong communication, problem-solving, and time management skills.
  • Self-motivated team player with a positive attitude.

    WORKING CONDITIONS:

  • International travel required (up to 30%).
  • Ability to attend and conduct presentations.
  • Overtime and weekend work as required.
  • Exposure to client worksites.
